Lexus is taking to the track on three continents in 2016, with variants of the RC coupe spearheading the marque’s presence in competitive motorsport.
Campaigning in Japan, Europe and North America, Lexus’ Works and Customer teams will put the RC, RC F and RC F GT3 through its paces in various classes of GT racing, including a classic 24hr endurance event.

Europe: Nürburgring 24 Hours
Taking place over the weekend of 28-29 May, Lexus returns to the iconic Nürburgring Nordschleife for the ultimate test: a 24-hour endurance race. Two Lexus race cars will tackle the punishing course – an RC and an RC F.
It’s the tenth time that the GAZOO Racing team has participated in the race, with Lexus having famously used the Nürburgring 24 Hours in the development of the LFA supercar.

North America: IMSA Sports Car Championship
The RC F GT3 makes its debut in North American sports car racing with the F Performance Racing team. Veteran racer Scott Pruett and 2013 Indy Lights champion Sage Karam will drive the GT3-spec Lexus at a limited number of races this year, ahead of a planned multi-car campaign in 2017.

Lexus RC F GT3 set for American race debut
Japan: Super GT
Lexus and the RC F continue to have a presence in the GT500 class of Japan’s top-tier domestic race series, Super GT. Supported by Lexus GAZOO Racing, a total of six RC F racers are competing in the eight-round championship, with a host of experienced Japanese drivers joined by ex-F1 star Heikki Kovalainen and British driver James Rossiter.
