Over 6,000 visitors flocked to THE Supercar Event over the weekend of 23-24 June 2012, as The Children’s Trust charity held its annual motoring festival.
The event took place at Dunsfold Aerodrome, otherwise known as the home of Top Gear’s famous test track, and saw some of the world’s finest sports cars take to the track – including the Lexus LFA.
Supercar fans were offered the chance to take a VIP passenger ride in the LFA, at a cost of £50, with all proceeds going to the charity. Lexus UK is proud to have supported the event and pledged to match all money raised by the LFA rides.
Individual supercar owners and supercar clubs also offered passenger rides in their own cars around the track. The event proved to be a great success, as exotic car fans got the chance to see the first LFA in the UK alongside models from Ferrari, Pagani, Koenigsegg, Porsche and Lotus.
In total, the weekend’s supercar action is expected to raise around £50,000 for The Children’s Trust.
Lexus also chose the event as a showcase for its F Sport range (pictured below), which included one of the first opportunities to see the all-new GS 450h F Sport and 2012 RX 450h F Sport, which were on display for the duration of the weekend.
Diana De Moura Stewart, Special Projects Fundraiser at The Children’s Trust said: “It was a fantastic weekend and we were thrilled with the turnout. We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who made the event possible – to the Supercar committee, the drivers for the generous contribution of their time, cars, petrol and skill to ensure that every supercar ride was memorable, the track marshals who worked hard to ensure safety for all, our supporter Lexus and finally to our 150 volunteers, without whom this event could not have happened.”
