Lexus has enhanced the UX hybrid compact SUV range for the 2021 model year with the addition of a striking new Premium Sport Edition that offers extra style, high equipment specification and strong customer value.
As the name suggests, the new grade is identified by its distinctively sporty styling, which adopts an all-black theme across the grille and frame, five-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels, door mirror casings, roof rails and headlight units.
A similar treatment is applied throughout the interior, with the seats upholstered in black Tahara material, our supple alternative to leather. The generous list of equipment also includes helpful technology such as a Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Lexus Navigation.
All of these features are provided at just £850 more than the UX Premium Pack model on which it is based. The new Premium Sport Edition costs £33,150 on the road.
Heated seats, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, rear privacy glass and, for easier parking manoeuvres, a reversing camera and Intelligent Clearance Sonar system are also provided. The multimedia system includes smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto so owners can access and control their favourite phone apps with ease using the UX’s seven-inch display screen.
Lexus Safety System+ equips the UX Premium Sport Edition with a Pre-Collision System that additionally detects pedestrians and, in daylight driving, cyclists, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Trace Assist, Road Sign Assist and Automatic High Beam.
The 2021 Lexus UX Premium Sport Edition is attractive to business owners and company car drivers too, with its on-the-road price keeping it comfortably below the threshold for additional Vehicle Excise Duty. Thanks to the efficiency of its hybrid-electric powertrain, the new model secures a 27% benefit-in-kind rating for company car tax – lower than any of its conventionally powered competitors.
