Fresh for 2015, the Lexus NX mid-sized crossover comes in two distinct flavours. The hybrid NX 300h mixes electric and petrol power, while the NX 200t is the first model to use Lexus’ sporty new 2.0-litre petrol turbo engine.
The Lexus NX 300h comes with five levels of equipment, all of which deliver on Lexus’ promise of luxury, comfort and state-of-the-art user-friendly technology. The NX 200t however, comes exclusively in the dynamic F SPORT specification, reflecting its performance focus.
NX is the first model to have Lexus’ millimetre-wave, radar-controlled Pre-Crash Safety system and Adaptive Cruise Control as standard on all versions. Other features include a wireless charging tray to let driver and passenger recharge their electronic devices, and for the first time, a new Remote Touch Interface with a touchpad control.
Further features include a Panoramic View Monitor, a comprehensive multi-information display (incorporating a G-sensor and boost meter on the NX 200t), head-up display, blind spot monitor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
The NX 300h S, the entry point to the range, is available with front-wheel drive only; all other NX 300h models will have all-wheel drive, equipped with a second electric motor on the rear axle.
In recent Euro NCAP crash testing, the NX scored the maximum five-star rating and proved the best-performing model in its class

Lexus NX options and option packs
Lexus Navigation is available as an option (£995) on all S, SE, Luxury and F Sport grades, with the more sophisticated Lexus Premium Navigation system (£1,995) additionally offered for F Sport.
The NX 300h Luxury can be specified with a Convenience Pack (£495), comprising the new wireless smartphone charger and power-operated tailgate). Customers can add a sunroof (£1,000) to the F Sport and Premier NX models and Lexus’s Adaptive Variable Suspension system (£750) can added to the F Sport specification. Across the board, metallic paint is a £645 option.

I note your info on Caravan Towing limits of 750Kg unbraked and 1500Kg Braked. Can you also advise the maximum download permissable at the towball from the caravan hitch. I need 100 Kg
Sorry I have just noticed you have already answered this question. I am very disappointed to note it is only 60Kg. I have previously had three RXs but really would have gone for the NX. This is a very low figure compared with the rest of the market.

I am finding it hard to find any detailed information on the premiere navigation system and exactly what the upgrade does, can you point me to a link or provide further info please, as it is a £1000 more than the standard it would be useful to know exactly what you get for the extra.

A shiny wheel on d F sport will be adorable.
I have been looking for a balance between a tow vehicle and efficiency for normal driving. This vehicle seemed to tick all the boxes. It seems to have enough power to tow a reasonably sized caravan, has the electric boost for pulling off / overtaking.
It is very disapointing that the nose weight is set to 60kg, which pretty much excludes most caravans, which is surprising since caravaners are one of the big markets for SUVs like this.
like most caravaners, I Guess I’ll be waiting a bit longer for a manufacturer to decide a hybrid that can tow is worth buidling

There does seem to be a contradiction. My understanding is that from a safety perspective the noseweight of a trailer (caravan) should be 5% of the the trailer (caravan) kerb weight. That would suggest that the nosweight for the rated towing capacity should be 75kg, unless happy to tow in an unsafe fashion.
If you are saying the maximum noseweight is indeed 60kg, then it appears dishonest to claim a towing capacity of 1500kg, as the noseweight only allows a towing capacity of 1200kg.
Surely therefore your specification should reflect the towing capacity of 1200kg, otherwise you are encouraging unsafe / dangerous towing.

Please can you explain the reason for the 60kg tow weight nose weight limitation? I test drove the NX this weekend, and could not fault it. It was simply perfect in every way and I didn’t want to give it back. However, as I need to pull a small caravan, the 60Kg nose weight limit is farcical and prevents the NX from pulling ANY caravan. Utterly absurd, and something that needs to be explained and addressed. Get that limit up to 75kg and you will open up a huge market…..

On my current car my nose weight limit is 75kg.
I have been towing caravans over 45 years. My current van is 1400kg and owned by me for the last 19 years using 3 different tow cars. Volvo 960 I ran at 80 kg for best performance and stability, 4 track 90kg and current Signum 65kg.
A recommendation is just that caravans weighing 1900kg plus should be aware the Alko running gear when uprated is able to handle a maximum of 1 20kg must not be exceeded.
Cars suspension can be upgraded to cope with weight but an element of trial and error can provide quite a surprise. Recommendation of 5 % in my experience is just that you must experiment to find your optimal towing experience.
The Signum at 60 –65 kg offers far better stability than the Volvo and 4 track on long haul high-speed continental trips.
Caravan trimming if far more important for stability than compensating with nose weight.

It is advised to only carry the difference in weight between the kerb weight and gross vehicle weight, which in the case of the NX300h is about 490kg including the driver.
Unfotunately, this means that it would not be possible to carry the bricks.
