Already widely regarded as the world’s most beautiful open-top car, Lexus is presenting the Regatta Edition LC 500 Convertible, a special launch version that displays its stunning design to the best effect.
This ultra-exclusive edition of the LC 500 Convertible features a unique colour combination. As the name suggests, the deep blue of the bodywork and roof, paired with the white and blue of the interior, evokes the ambience of a luxury marina lined – an image that was part of the original design inspiration for the car.
The exterior is finished in Structural Blue, which uses advanced paint technology to replicate the intense depth of tone found in the natural world. Using micro-particles in the pigment, it reflects light in a way that highlights the curves in the bodywork and changes the perception of light and shade when viewed from different angles.
This harmonises perfectly with a Marine Blue finish for the Regatta Edition’s folding soft top, the design of which retains the LC’s distinctive coupe roofline in the context of a convertible.
Conscious of how the interior of a convertible is often open to view, Lexus designers ensured a harmonious flow between the inside and outside. White is the dominant colour, and it is applied around the windscreen frame, the steering wheel and headlining. The instrument panel and sculptured door panels have contrasting deep blue upper and white lower sections, while the front seats are upholstered in perforated, semi-aniline white leather with blue highlights on the headrests, upper shoulder area and grab handles.
