We’re delighted to confirm that Gazoo Racing is heading back to the Nürburgring to tackle the famous 24 Hours race. The team’s weapon of choice? LFA, of course.
Gazoo Racing has been competing in the endurance event since 2007 – click here for a round-up of the action from last year’s race. The 2012 Nürburgring 24 Hours takes place in Germany from 17-20 May.
The car will be driven by Takayuki Kinoshita, Akira Iida and Juichi Wakisaka. A unique element about the Gazoo Racing team is the fact it uses the company’s in-house personnel as mechanics as a way of helping to develop better cars and encouraging employee involvement. The team is also running an employee driver development programme.
The partnership between Lexus and Gazoo Racing is part of a plan to broaden the appeal of motor sport and encourage a new generation of sports car fans.
Lexus enthusiasts in the UK will get a chance to see the Gazoo Racing LFA at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, from 28 June to 1 July.
What a beautiful peice of Japansese craftsman-ship!
