Lexus USA challenges artists to create show-stopping IS for SEMA

Artists and designers in the US have been challenged with creating their own unique show-stopping take on the Lexus IS, which could be made a reality at the 2013 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

As part of its ongoing commitment to design, Lexus USA has partnered with leading art website deviantart.com to take the winning artist to see their creation in the metal at the country’s premier modifying showcase in November. They will also receive a year’s lease of a new IS.

The competition follows previous Lexus appearances at the show, including the Five Axis Lexus LS and the VIP Auto Salon GS models from last year’s event.

Entrants have just under three weeks to join the competition, and can use digital tools, pencil and paper or anything in between to show off how they’d customise the exterior of the IS to make it the center of attention.

The submissions deadline is 11:59:59 Pacific Standard Time, August 12th and the winner will be announced on August 16th. SEMA runs from November 5th to 8th at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Full information and instructions for submission can be found at deviantART.com/Lexus.

Please note: The competition is strictly open to US residents only. Full rules can be found here.
