The LBX Morizo RR concept has made its world debut at the 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon, offering a tantalising, high-performance interpretation of our all-new LBX compact crossover. In addition to offering unprecedented driver engagement, the concept preserves the essential quality and design sophistication that are intrinsic to the Lexus brand.
Adding another dimension to the LBX’s convention-breaking character, the concept model was created with direct input from Toyota Motor Corporation chairman and master driver Akio Toyoda – also affectionately known as ‘Morizo’. Toyoda-san gives a personal insight into the project in the following short video:
The LBX Morizo RR concept is powered by a turbocharged and intercooled 1.6-litre in-line three-cylinder engine that delivers 300bhp through an electronically controlled all-wheel drive system and eight-speed automatic transmission. Key elements of the car have been honed for performance, including packaging, body, suspension and tyres, while the aerodynamics were optimised through the application of technologies from the world of high-speed air racing.
In line with the vehicle modification theme that forms the basis of the Tokyo Auto Salon exhibition, LBX Morizo RR concept has been customised with unique details. Morizo’s signature yellow colour features in the plated moulding of the unified spindle grille, the brake calipers and seat belts. The result is a car that embodies a sense of casual luxury and has the reassuring, rewarding quality of a trusted driving partner.

When are we getting this in the UK?
Please bring this to the UK. I really wanted the Toyota GR YARIS automatic but missed out but this might be even better for me as a daily driver. We really need this in the UK Lexus lineup now the LC500 V8 has gone. We need some excitement in the UK Lexus lineup. I watch with envy the great cars Lexus has in the USA and really wish we could have some excitement here! The LBX RR is exactly what we need now! I’d buy it!
Please bring this concept to production. I am a GR Yaris owner craving a little more and this combo ticks all my boxes:
– Small
– Refined
– Performant
– Practical
– Reliable
– Understated
Where do we sign?! 🙂
Hi there. This will be my next car! Please build it and sell them in the UK. This is everything I want in a car: beauty, elegance, fun, speed and luxury solid interior. What is the fuel economy going to be on this Morizo LBX? Thank you, Alex
Hi Alex, thanks for getting in touch.
We have no information on offering this edition here in the UK at the moment, sorry.
Lexus UK
When will the LBX Morizo RR be available for UK? It looks to be the perfect replacement for my daily runabout.
I own an original GR Yaris brand new but was failed to be picked in the recent ballot for the new model.
Hi Maurice, thanks for your comment.
We have no information on offering the LBX Morizo RR here in the UK.
Thanks
If this goes into production and is available in the UK I only have one thing to say to Lexus……….Take my money now!!
As soon as I became familiar with, and eventually bought my own GR Yaris, I thought:- “this car is good enough to wear a Lexus badge”. I am pleased to see the LBX Morizo RR with much of the GR Yaris running gear, and I can’t wait to see and experience these cars in future too. In a world where many cars have become far too large, heavy and complicated: Thank you Toyota & Lexus for putting much of the enjoyment back into modern motoring, with a very useable car with a useful yet compact form-factor too .
I failed to qualify for the direct shift GR Yaris so this would be absolutely fantastic as I’m disabled but love driving. I’m a Toyota owner from a family of Toyota owners over the generations.
