Davis Cup 2022: Lexus named Official Car Partner

Lexus has been announced as an official partner to the Davis Cup 2022.

Where was the 2022 Davis Cup held?

The competition took place at a number of major European cities, starting with group stage matches in Bologna, Glasgow and Hamburg, from 13 to 18 September. Knockout matches followed in Malaga, from 22 to 27 November.

As the official car of the Davis Cup 2022, Lexus was responsible for the transportation of players and teams from the 16 competing nations to and from the tennis village during the tournament.

Founded in 1900, the Davis Cup by Rakuten has grown to become the largest annual world championship in sport, with 142 nations taking part in 2021. This year the group stage saw 16 teams competing in four round-robin groups. The top two teams in each group advanced to the quarter-finals. The new format included a nine-week break between the group and knockout stages. Lexus ambassador Roberto Bautista represented his native Spain in the competition.

The Davis Cup by Rakuten Finals saw the top two teams in each group competing in the quarter-finals. Lexus ambassador Roberto Bautista once again represented Spain in the competition, with his team playing Croatia. Australia, Netherlands, Italy, United States, Germany and Canada were also successful in reaching the last eight.

Who won the Davis Cup 2022?

The Davis Cup by Rakuten Finals 2022 concluded in Malaga on 27 November with the Canadian team crowned worthy winners. As the official car sponsor of the tournament, Lexus transported players and teams to and from the tennis village throughout the group and knock-out stages of the competition finals from 22 to 27 November, offering competitors its famous hospitality.
