Lexus European Safety Kit: Feel free to roam the Euro Zone

Lexus European Safety Kit 01

Mainland Europe may be just a short distance away and your Lexus is designed to be the ideal companion for a continental road trip. However, a spontaneous decision to drive abroad could put you at risk of receiving an on-the-spot fine if you do not have all the compulsory or recommended safety equipment on board.

While it is possible to buy each of the necessary items individually from different sources, Lexus has released a comprehensive European Safety Kit in its accessory range for all those who like to have everything together in one neat, handy package.

Included in the European Safety Kit are four high-visibility safety jackets, a first aid kit, two warning triangles, headlamp converters, two breathalysers and a GB sticker.

Contained in a branded carry case measuring approximately 47x11x11cm, this kit was designed to be carried at all times so you can always be prepared for the unexpected, whether driving in the UK or abroad. In fact, so compact is it that you should still be able to squeeze the proverbial kitchen sink into the boot!

Order your European Safety Kit from your local Lexus Centre at a cost of £55.

  1. Hi there.
    I have a Lexus RX450h reg number WV22***.
Could you confirm whether headlight deflectors would be required for this vehicle to drive across to France and Netherlands

    Thanks

        1. Thanks, Julie.

All of our new cars with LED headlights have a flat beam pattern so will not need deflectors when driving in Europe. Older models have a ‘kick up’ on the left which would head directly into the view of oncoming drivers.

Our technical team have advised that you visit your local Lexus centre or MOT centre to have the beam pattern checked on a beam analyser before heading abroad. The use of stick on beam deflectors is not advised as LED type headlamps can let off a lot of heat and generally cause the stickers to melt on the lens. However, some European laws do require these beam deflector stickers to be present though so worth purchasing anyway.

Have a lovely trip, thank you.

  2. Hello,

I have a 2009 Lexus RX400H. Reg EX09ZNP – does it need to have any stickers or adjustments to travel in France?

    1. Good afternoon Daniel,

      Thanks for getting in touch.

  3. I own a 2021 Lexus 250h reg number do I need headlight deflectors to drive in France? If so where can I purchase them from. I’m going to France on 20 September so would appreciate a prompt response.

    Thank you

    1. Hi Roy, thanks for getting in touch.

It is unclear on the system, we would recommend stopping into your local Lexus Centre so the team can check the beam pattern of the headlights on your vehicle.

      Thanks,

      Lexus UK
