Lexus European Safety Kit: Feel free to roam the Euro Zone

Lexus European Safety Kit 01

Mainland Europe may be just a short distance away and your Lexus is designed to be the ideal companion for a continental road trip. However, a spontaneous decision to drive abroad could put you at risk of receiving an on-the-spot fine if you do not have all the compulsory or recommended safety equipment on board.

While it is possible to buy each of the necessary items individually from different sources, Lexus has released a comprehensive European Safety Kit in its accessory range for all those who like to have everything together in one neat, handy package.

Included in the European Safety Kit are four high-visibility safety jackets, a first aid kit, two warning triangles, headlamp converters, two breathalysers and a GB sticker.

Contained in a branded carry case measuring approximately 47x11x11cm, this kit was designed to be carried at all times so you can always be prepared for the unexpected, whether driving in the UK or abroad. In fact, so compact is it that you should still be able to squeeze the proverbial kitchen sink into the boot!

Order your European Safety Kit from your local Lexus Centre at a cost of £55.

  1. Hi , i am taking WG69ERO, Lexus UX250H to France – do i need to put stickers on the headlamps?

    1. Hi Jason,

Your vehicle should have a flat beam pattern, so no adjustments are needed. You can check this yourself by shining the lights of the car against a wall in the dark.

      Enjoy your trip.

      Thanks

Thanks for getting in touch with us.
To drive abroad on the right side of the road you’re not allowed to have the kick-up on the left of the beam.
Most modern lights have a flat beam pattern. Your nearest Lexus centre will be able to check this for you.
If your vehicle has a flat beam pattern, you will not need stickers. If there is a kick-up, you’ll need to apply stickers to remove the kick-up.
          Thanks.

Your RX has LED headlights, this means that you will not need stickers as the beam pattern is flat.
      Thanks.

      1. I have a Takumi UX 250h (LT69GOK) and leave for mainland Europe in 48 hours. I note your comments on needing headlamp adjusters if our headlamps have a kick-up on the left side. There is not time to go to a dealership to check if we have a kick-up or not. Is there some way we can determine this ourselves?
        Many thanks

        1. Hello Jenny,
Any local garage or MOT station with the appropriate beam setting equipment will be able to check this for you.
          Thanks.

  9. Hi I have a 2019 Es300h.

Travelling to France today. Do I need to do anything with my headlights in advance?

    1. Hello.

      Thanks for getting in touch.

All of our new cars with LED headlights have a flat beam pattern so will not need deflectors when driving in Europe. Older models have a ‘kick up’ on the left which would head directly into the view of oncoming drivers.

      Have a great trip.

  10. Driving in EU next month in my RX450h reg.number g16xus
Does this vehicle needs headlight beam
    deflection stickers ?
    Thanks

    1. Hello Sergei,
      Thank you for contacting Lexus.
To drive abroad on the right side of the road you’re not allowed to have the kick-up on the left of the beam.
Your nearest Lexus centre will be able to assess whether the left of your beam has kick-up. If there is a kick-up, you’ll need to apply stickers to remove it.
      We hope this helps.
      Thanks.
