Can you write a Lexus Haiku for Haiku Poetry Day on April 17?

This Friday (April 17) is International Haiku Poetry Day. It’s a day designed to encourage budding poets to share their original work and to mark the occasion we’d like to hear your best Lexus Haikus.

A Haiku is a three line, single stanza poem that follows a strict 5-7-5 syllable pattern. Haikus originated in Japan and traditionally concern nature and seasonality thematically, though contemporary Haikus are less concerned with these themes. One thing that every Haiku must have though is a ‘cut’. A cut is an intertextual juxtaposition or contrast and it can be accentuated through the use of punctuation.

So, now that you’re familiar with the format of a Haiku, why not have a go at writing a Lexus one? Whether you want to zero-in on the emissions-free driving capabilities of our hybrids or talk about our compact SUV being the ‘NX’ best thing, we want to read your efforts! There’s a very smart Lexus by Cross pen in it for the best ones.

Here’s one we made earlier to get your creative juices flowing. You must be able to do better than this, you must!

A Quiet Lexus

Your hybrid silence ruptured
