Lexus let some of America’s top custom car specialists loose on its hybrid models for the 2010 SEMA Show in Las Vegas – and showed a custom concept of its own, too.
Although it’s not yet on the road, the new CT 200h full hybrid was treated to a sports upgrade courtesy of Lexus North America. The CT 200h F Sport concept sported eye-catching 18-inch wheels with Pirelli PZero performance tyres, upgraded brakes, and adjustable suspension and shock absorbers.
0-60 Magazine went wild with the GS 450h, stripping out the sports saloon and making performance and handling upgrades fit for a race car – hence the massive rear wing.
Even the LS 600h L limousine gained a few special extras, courtesy of Fox Marketing, which added a full body kit, twin rear wings and Glacier Green paintwork, plus extraordinary 20-inch concave wheels in a “candy copper” finish. The LS was also transformed by VIP Auto Salon, which came with lean, low and ultra-luxurious interpretation, with air suspension, customised interior and a look-at-me metallic bronze exterior finish.
The Lexus line-up was completed by the meanest-looking RX 450h we’ve seen yet, courtesy of EST Styling. A wide-body conversion kit and 21-inch wheels helped turn this into a hybrid SUV like no other.
