Lexus has scooped a prestigious Milano Design Award at the world’s largest design event, Milan Design Week.
A panel of experts from the design industry awarded Lexus A Journey of the Senses exhibit the ‘Most Entertaining’ accolade. Lexus is the first car manufacturer to win such an award.
Designed by internationally acclaimed designer Philippe Nigro and featuring the culinary efforts of world-renowned chef Hajime Yoneda, the exhibition was an interactive experience that centred around the five human senses.
The exhibition was held between April 14 and 19 at Spazio Lexus in Tortona, Milan, Italy and attracted over 50,000 visitors.
Now in its fifth year, the Milano Design Award is the only official award dedicated to the best installations of Milan Design Week. The Milano Design Award recognises the best overall exhibits as well as individual winners in five categories – Entertaining, Tech, Sound, Impact, E-commerce.

“Lexus – A Journey of the Senses” offered visitors a wide-ranging and exciting sensory experience, underlining Lexus as a brand placing great emphasis on human senses throughout its design processes.
The exhibit consisted of three distinct zones: a sound and light installation featuring a special execution of the Lexus LF-SA concept car, a room dedicated to the finalists and winner of the Lexus Design Award competition, and a succession of three cocoons constructed of an intricate wooden lattice work, titled “Rain” “Wood” and “Earth”.
