The LBX Morizo RR concept has made its world debut at the 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon, offering a tantalising, high-performance interpretation of our all-new LBX compact crossover. In addition to offering unprecedented driver engagement, the concept preserves the essential quality and design sophistication that are intrinsic to the Lexus brand.
Adding another dimension to the LBX’s convention-breaking character, the concept model was created with direct input from Toyota Motor Corporation chairman and master driver Akio Toyoda – also affectionately known as ‘Morizo’. Toyoda-san gives a personal insight into the project in the following short video:
The LBX Morizo RR concept is powered by a turbocharged and intercooled 1.6-litre in-line three-cylinder engine that delivers 300bhp through an electronically controlled all-wheel drive system and eight-speed automatic transmission. Key elements of the car have been honed for performance, including packaging, body, suspension and tyres, while the aerodynamics were optimised through the application of technologies from the world of high-speed air racing.
In line with the vehicle modification theme that forms the basis of the Tokyo Auto Salon exhibition, LBX Morizo RR concept has been customised with unique details. Morizo’s signature yellow colour features in the plated moulding of the unified spindle grille, the brake calipers and seat belts. The result is a car that embodies a sense of casual luxury and has the reassuring, rewarding quality of a trusted driving partner.

I’d be very interested if this was to come to the UK it’s great to see Toyota/Lexus producing quality drivers cars as well as quality every day cars.
This concept car was announced 18 months ago. Since then, nothing. As a Lexus owner over almost 20 years, 6 cars, culminating in the RCF, it is uncharacteristic of Lexus to sat nothing. And disappointing.

Looks an exciting prospect that a current UK based Toyota GR86 owner is most certainly interested in!! Further research seems to suggest its gone down very well in the Australian market and there does seem to be encouraging optimism of its arrival in the UK.

I am surprised that you still refer to the Morizo RR as a concept. It has been readily available on the New Zealand and Australian markets for some time now. There are now many available for sale on the Japanese motor trade sites that are a tempting alternative for us in the UK to import on the so called “grey market”. I have discussed this with my nearest Lexus and Toyota service departments who have confirmed they would provide service support. If Lexus will not provide confirmation that they will make this model available on the UK market, maybe this is the route those of us who want one will have to take! Your comments would be appreciated.

I am surprised that Lexus UK are stating that the Morizo RR is “still a concept vehicle”.
This car is available to test drive and buy now in Australia, right hand drive just like the UK.
