The 2021 Lexus NX has been revealed, with parking safety becoming standard across the entire NX range as part of the model update.
The Intelligent Parking Sensors give an audible alert if an obstacle is detected and also, at speeds below 10mph, applies Drive Force Limiting Control to reduce acceleration and issues a ‘brake’ warning on the driver’s multi-information display.
If the driver fails to respond and a collision is unavoidable, it will automatically engage braking control to bring the car to a stop. This system is newly introduced on the entry-level NX, Premium Sport Edition, and F Sport models (and is also included in versions with the Premium and Premium Plus option packs).
The focus on safety equipment extends with Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert becoming standard for the NX F Sport.
New paint options have been added in the 2021 NX update with Terrane Khaki and Celestial Blue metallic colours now available throughout the range. As well as new exterior colours, the interior has received upgrades, with a new interior finish for the NX Premium Sport Edition. The seats are upholstered in black Tahara with crimson accents, combined with silver trim inlays and a matching crimson finish for the instrument panel. Tahara is Lexus’ high-quality, supple, synthetic alternative to leather, which is free from any animal products.
The self-charging hybrid electric powertrain carries on with the 2021 NX, with the option of E-Four electric all-wheel drive or front-wheel drive. Being a full hybrid, the NX can be driven in all-electric mode in slow-moving urban traffic to help with both emissions and fuel-saving for the driver.
The 2021 Lexus NX is available to order now.
