Interview: Two-time Women’s Rally World Champion Isolde Holderied on the Lexus RC F

Lexus Europe has interviewed two-time Women’s Rally World Champion, Isolde Holderied, after she put the Lexus RC F through its paces at the world-famous Ascari Racetrack.

Below, Isolde, who in 1996 she became the first female ever to sign as a Toyota works driver, gives her first impressions of driving the 5.0-litre, 471bhp V8 sports coupé.

Lexus Europe: Isolde, what were your first impressions after driving the Lexus RC F?

Isolde Holderied: It’s an amazing car! It was such fun to drive on track; the V8 power and engine sound are sensational.

Lexus Europe: How did the RC F handle around corners?

Isolde Holderied: The balance is near perfect and the handling is very precise. It behaves well at all speeds and so will be a great car for every kind of driver.

Lexus Europe: What three words would you choose to describe the new RC F?

Isolde Holderied: Amazing, brilliant, fantastic.

Lexus Europe: What technology did you like most?

Isolde Holderied: I was very impressed with the adjustments I could make to the driving dynamics. For instance, you can cruise on public roads in ECO mode, but then switch to Sport S+ mode for the track.

Lexus Europe: You come from Bavaria, which Alpine pass would you drive first in the RC F?

Isolde Holderied: I’d head to Stilfser Joch, a pass that offers the kind of hairpins perfect for enjoying the Lexus RC F to the full.

The Lexus RC F is on sale now priced from £59,995 on-the-road. For further information, visit the designated section of the Lexus UK website. If you would like us to arrange a test drive for you, leave a comment below, and we’ll be in touch shortly.
